Isak W. Koch - Isabella I Mixed Media Art I Original photography and acrylic painting I 60 cm x 90 cm (HxW)

Unique mixed media painting (acrylic and photography) on stretcher-frame canvas. Perfect for fans of vintage cars and artwork with a twist! ﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌ "Classic cars symbolize a time when driving was more than just a means of transportation" -Unknown 彡Isabella彡 60 cm x 90 cm / 23.6 in x 35.4 in (HxW) Mixed media (acrylic painting and original photography) on canvas (stretcher frame) 2024 Hand-signed and sealed. One-of-a-kind piece Former exhibition piece ﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌ About this painting: This artwork features a striking fusion of photography and painting centered on a Borgward Isabella coupé. The main photograph of the car — gleaming, chrome-trimmed, and full of mid-century elegance — is seamlessly blended into a backdrop of sweeping painted gradients. Metallic blues, golds, and blacks flow across the canvas, echoing the curves of the car’s bodywork. Painted reflections and highlights merge perfectly with real ones, making it difficult to see where photo ends and paint begins. Enlarged fragments of the vehicle — a hubcap, a hood ornament, the Borgward emblem — float behind the central image like memories surfacing through polished metal. The whole piece radiates motion, nostalgia, and cinematic light. ﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌ A very short story: When the old Isabella’s engine finally roared back to life, Lena felt as if time folded around her. She drove through the evening streets, and for a moment the world reflected itself in gold and blue across the windshield — just like in her father’s stories — as though the past had come along for the ride. ﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌ About the artist: ISAK W. KOCH (born 1962); painter and photographer ‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿ Isak Wilhelmus Koch (born June 8, 1962, in Vrede, South Africa) is a multi-talented, creative painter and photographer who has already achieved great popularity as an artist, not only in his home country, but also in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Isak grew up as the son of a farming family in a rural area of South Africa, where his fascination and love for animals and nature developed. This fact is still strongly reflected in his paintings, drawings, and photographs today. After school and graduating from high school (1980), he studied graphic design at the Technical University in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng. Here he began to experiment with a wide range of styles and motifs, which he mastered over the course of his career. In addition to realism, these include surrealism, impressionism, abstract art, pencil drawings, scientific and digital illustrations, and (art) photography. He finds his motifs in nature: in flora and fauna, as well as in landscape scenes, with a preference for abandoned places as a visual metaphor for transience. Man-made creations are returned to what is inherent in themselves—nature and time. Both represent the dissolution of existing structures, change. HE PAINTS BECAUSE HE LOVES PAINTING, BECAUSE HE HOPES THAT THROUGH HIS WORK HE CAN BRING THE BEAUTY AND RHYTHM OF THE SEEMINGLY BANAL THINGS OF OUR WORLD CLOSER TO THE VIEWER, OR RATHER, LET THEM FEEL IT. Numerous private and public exhibitions followed, including in South Africa and Namibia (1990-2014, among others in South African government buildings), Canada, the United States, Great Britain, Australia, Portugal, and Germany (including Heilbronn, Lörrach, Weil am Rhein, and Öhringen). Since 2015, Isak has been living and working in Schefflenz, near Mosbach (Baden). ✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏ Find more artwork by Isak W.
