He is especially inspired by life in the Indonesian archipelago and is fascinated by the mystery of its inhabitants, both human and animal. His inspiration often relates to the Eastern person—musicians, dancers, and female dancers, particularly the people of the beautiful island of Bali. People from the theater are also frequently his models. The subjects of his work are as varied and rich as life itself. But his love for Eastern culture and religion, music, and dance is always present.
