This amulet consists of three parts. In the upper part is the symbol of the Smoldering coal. On the day of Samhain, the Celts finished harvesting. On this occasion, a fire was lit on the highest hill. Part of the harvest was sacrificed as a sign of gratitude to the gods. The coal from this fire was the most powerful protective amulet.
