AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Two silver forks with double tines from the first half of the 18th century.

Remarked; provincial lion, city mark Amsterdam, year letter P for 1749, and master mark LTS.

This master mark is not known among the Amsterdam books and/or the green lemon.

However, intensive research — thanks to an enthusiastic collector — reveals that this is about master Laurens Otterbos. Born in Steenwijk and active in Amsterdam in the mid-18th century.

L for Laurens, S for the s at the end of Otterbos, and the T in the middle section. This method of indicating was used more frequently during that time.

The forks are in good condition, considering their age (around 3 centuries), with light usage wear on the tines.
