Description from the seller

GENERAL:

This 1977 Mercedes-Benz 280 CE (CE123) is equipped with the M110 engine, a six-cylinder inline engine with double overhead camshaft and fuel injection system. The engine is the original (matching numbers). It delivers 177 HP and is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission that operates smoothly and precisely. Currently, the car has 187,000 kilometers and is in perfect condition for use, with a valid ITV and recent maintenance that included replacing all fluids and filters.

Bodywork & Painting

The bodywork is very well preserved, with no scratches or imperfections, and the paint is in excellent condition. Although the original factory color was silver green (code 861), this car was repainted years ago in an original dark green tone from Mercedes. The underside appears healthy, with no signs of rust; the exhaust system, silentblocks, and other chassis components are in good condition. Mechanically, the car is up to date: the steering is firm and free of play, the brakes respond correctly, as does the engine. It is a ready-to-use unit, with no pending work.

Interior:

The interior retains the original black leather upholstery, also in very good condition. The equipment includes central locking, electric windows on all four doors, individual seats with armrests, air conditioning, electric sunroof, right rearview mirror, fog lights, 15-inch alloy wheels known as 'barrocas,' emergency triangle, first aid kit, and the headlight washer system. The original Becker Grand Prix radio remains in place, fully functional, along with its automatic antenna. All electrical components and accessories mentioned operate correctly.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Regarding the history, it is a car sold new in Spain, registered in Pontevedra in November 1977. All its original documentation in Spanish is preserved: instruction manual, maintenance booklet, warranties, Becker radio manual, and others. The service book was sealed at an official dealership until the mid-1980s, when it reached 60,000 kilometers.

Since then, and especially during the period of its last owner — who has had it for more than a decade — records have been kept of all the ITV inspections, service invoices, and parts purchased. All the replacement parts used in maintenance come from Mercedes. Among the most notable interventions is the one carried out in 2014, which included the complete replacement of the air conditioning compressor, as well as spark plugs, filters, starter pinion, oil and gasket for the automatic transmission, dryer filter, expansion valve, and the full charge of the air conditioning system.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
