Vintage Sebe Products Ltd. “Snipe” Battery-Powered Tin Boat – c.1950s/60s – Large 41 cm – Fully Original A classic British-made tinplate speedboat by Sebe Products Ltd., West Eynsham, Kent, model “Snipe”, complete with its original battery-powered motor mechanism, propeller and rudder. This is the large 41 cm version, far less common than the smaller Sebe boats. Description • Manufacturer: Sebe Products Ltd. (UK) • Model: Snipe • Approx. date: late 1950s–early 1960s • Material: Tinplate with painted finish • Power: Battery-operated motor (original fitted unit with gearing, switch marked STOP / SLOW / HALF / FULL) • Length: 41 cm • Colours: Cream deck, red hull, red windscreen and seat • Markings: • “SNIPE” printed on bow • Under-deck instructions printed by Sebe Products Ltd. • Speed selector scale on deck • Features: • Original propeller and drive shaft • Working rudder • Removable upper deck with all factory parts still present • Internal motor housing intact Condition Good vintage condition overall with expected signs of age: • Light paint wear in places • Motor visually complete but untested • Hull structurally sound • Interior clean and original This example is complete, which is rare: most surviving Sebe boats have missing propellers, broken switches, or lost deck plates.
