The obverse shows the bust of Prince Louis II looking to the left, with the legend identifying him surrounding the field. The reverse features the coat of arms of Monaco, supported by two armed monks with swords, beneath a large crown. The phrase 'DEO JUVANTE' (With God's help) appears in the escutcheon. This coin was minted after World War II and is a representative piece of the principality.
