Virgen María Inmaculada - XL, oil painting from the nineteenth century in Spain, attributed to the Sevillana school, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Immaculate Virgin – Sevillian School, 19th Century (1830–1850) | Large Format 133 x 88 cm
I present this magnificent Immaculate Virgin from the Sevillian school, made between 1830 and 1850, a work that stands out for its extraordinary pictorial quality, the sweetness of its expression and the classical harmony of the Marian iconography typical of Andalusian Romanticism of the 19th century.
The piece depicts an Immaculate Conception with finely modeled features, a soft, enveloping sky, and cherubs executed with exceptional delicacy. The artist perfectly captured the balance between spirituality and beauty, typical of Sevillian devotional painting.
It is a large format of 133 x 88 cm, something unusual and highly valued for this type of work, ideal for any private collection, brotherhood or domestic chapel.
The painting is generally in good condition. As is to be expected given its age, it shows some minor imperfections that would benefit from light restoration, nothing significant and nothing that detracts from the beauty of the work.
The piece comes directly from Cadiz, acquired by myself from the sister of an older brother of a Cadiz brotherhood, which adds an extra element of interest and provenance.
Professional packaging
I personally handle the packaging, using several layers of protection and reinforcement, ensuring that the artwork arrives perfectly safe and undamaged at its destination.
A Sevillian Immaculate of this category and size does not appear every day.
A unique opportunity for those seeking an authentic, elegant piece full of devotion.
