Carola Castro, Lovers, an original cubist acrylic painting on canvas, 71 cm high by 70 cm wide, framed with a 70×71×5 cm frame, created in 2025.
Description from the seller
Cubist artwork mounted on a period canvas.
Here I present two figures, together and united. The triumph of love.
This work is yet another of my inquiries, an attempt to reach the mystery that is for me all of Picasso's painting and where it leads me.
It is a necessity for me to confront the artist universally considered a great master and to unravel the very nature of artistic creation.
Inspiring myself with Picasso's achievements I consider a way to contribute to preserving tradition.

I try to move within the act of continuing to reinvent Cubism by giving it a modern touch.
I regularly access certain parameters that I consider recurrent, such as the constant assimilation of images from the past, playing with others' language, focusing on ancient and modern painters.
I feel a constant immersion into the story.
My study and research of the Cubist movement, especially Picasso's extensive career, has taken me into uncharted territory.
In each painting I try to review the problems and solutions that Picasso posed with Cubism.
Cubism, for me, is a very important pictorial movement within the history of art.
