Inspired by the Greek original "Discobolus" by Myron (circa 450 BC), the near-nude athletic figure of an Olympic discus thrower cast in bronze and mounted on a black hardstone Art Deco base for a height of 27cm and weight of 2825g. In the 1930s, in the period preceding the 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics there was great demand for such bronzes cast as athletic figures in the classical aesthetic.

Condition: Very good. no significant damages or repairs. Minimal wear commensurate with age.
