Amázzoni, the First Brazilian Gin
This artisanal gin stands out for its use of exclusive ingredients from the Amazon rainforest and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Created in 2015 in Rio de Janeiro by Arturo Isola and Alexandre Mazza, in collaboration with master mixologist Tato Giovannoni, Amázzoni has conquered the international market, making it the best-selling gin in Brazil and exported to 21 countries.
The vision behind Amázzoni was born from the founders’ passion for premium beverages and a deep respect for Brazilian biodiversity.
In an exclusive interview for Menú, Arturo Isola shared how the lack of gin in Brazil motivated them to launch the project. He also spoke about the importance of incorporating native Amazonian ingredients, which not only give the product its identity but also reflect their commitment to the environment.
“We were the first to produce gin in Brazil and the last to do so worldwide,” explained Isola about their initiative to create a gin in a country where the tradition of gin distilling did not exist.
From the very beginning, Amázzoni’s vision was clear: to develop a product that respected the tradition of gin, but with an authentic Brazilian touch. For this purpose, “I set out to find five ingredients that would represent Brazil’s biodiversity,” added Isola.
Amázzoni Dry Gin is the first artisanal gin from Brazil, crafted with ten botanicals that combine the classic with the native flavors of the country, offering a unique profile that has earned international awards.
