Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Ottomana lounge chair designed by Charles & Ray Eames and produced in Italy by ICF in the 1970s, with a cherry-wood veneered curved-shell and black leather cushions on a metal star base, dimensions 85 cm wide by 80 cm high by 86 cm deep, in good used condition with age-related marks.
Description from the seller
Iconic ottoman chair designed in 1956 by Charles & Ray Eames. The model offered is an Italian ICF production from the 1970s.
The armchair features the classic shell structure made of bent plywood elements, upholstered in a warm cherry veneer that highlights the natural wood grains. The contrast with the soft cushions in black leather, which are fully removable, creates an elegant and harmonious effect. The cushions, padded and shaped to offer deep comfort, follow the typical form of the Lounge Chair with central buttons and precise piping that emphasize its quality.
The seat is slightly inclined backward and designed to envelop the body, while the backrest, divided into two soft panels, ergonomically supports the shoulders and neck. The coordinated pouf, also upholstered in black leather and featuring a cherry wood shell, completes the set and allows for leg extension while maintaining the same aesthetic line as the armchair.
Both pieces rest on a star-shaped metal rotating base, typical of ICF's production from the 1970s, stable and visually lightweight. The ensemble conveys an impression of luxurious comfort, formal balance, and material refinement, with a warm and sophisticated character given by the combination of black leather and the luminous tone of cherry wood.
The general conditions are good, but not perfect. The body shows some small chips and scratches, clearly visible in the photos. The leather of the armchair, having acquired a beautiful vintage patina, is in extremely good condition; the pouf shows more pronounced wear but remains in vintage condition that is more than acceptable. The aluminium parts are intact with some normal signs of aging. The photos are an integral part of the description.
The item is retrievable within 10 km of Impruneta (province of Florence), after any agreements made with the buyer.
