Description from the seller
Amazzoni – Rio Negro Gin – Amazzoni Gin
Rio Negro Gin by Amazzoni is an exclusive gin with an intense flavor of juniper berries and a touch of spices and herbs. The gin is handcrafted and presented in an elegant bottle, making it an excellent gift for a hostess or a refined display at festive occasions.
In addition to the essential ingredients that make gin what it is, Rio Negro Gin contains new botanicals never before seen in gin. Among them are Victoria Regia (giant water lily), Brazil nut, and organic cocoa beans.
Located in the Paraíba Valley in Rio de Janeiro, the Amazzoni gin distillery is the first dedicated gin distillery in Brazil and the largest in Latin America. In 2018, they won the award for the world’s best craft gin distillery at the World Gin Awards in London.
Botanical Ingredients: juniper berries, coriander, bay leaves, Brazil nut, cocoa beans, Brazilian pink pepper, lemon, mandarin, Victoria Amazonica.
Alcohol: 51%
Producer: The gin is produced by Amazzoni.
Amázzoni, the First Brazilian Gin
This artisanal gin stands out for its use of exclusive ingredients from the Amazon rainforest and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Created in 2015 in Rio de Janeiro by Arturo Isola and Alexandre Mazza, in collaboration with master mixologist Tato Giovannoni, Amázzoni has conquered the international market, making it the best-selling gin in Brazil and exported to 21 countries.
The vision behind Amázzoni was born from the founders’ passion for premium beverages and a deep respect for Brazilian biodiversity.
In an exclusive interview for Menú, Arturo Isola shared how the lack of gin in Brazil motivated them to launch the project. He also spoke about the importance of incorporating native Amazonian ingredients, which not only give the product its identity but also reflect their commitment to the environment.
“We were the first to produce gin in Brazil and the last to do so worldwide,” explained Isola about their initiative to create a gin in a country where the tradition of gin distilling did not exist.
From the very beginning, Amázzoni’s vision was clear: to develop a product that respected the tradition of gin, but with an authentic Brazilian touch. For this purpose, “I set out to find five ingredients that would represent Brazil’s biodiversity,” added Isola.
Amázzoni Rio Negro
This super-premium version adds three additional botanicals to deliver a more robust and spiced profile, distinguished by its aromatic complexity.
