Spectacular circular convex mirror, 'witch mirror,' with a gilded bronze frame. Of French origin, made around 1950. The frame features a diagonal cross-shaped structure, with each arm adorned with floral motifs. Between the arms, there is an ornamental grille with a diamond pattern.
Convex mirrors were known as 'witch mirrors' because it was believed they held magical powers, such as visually confusing witches if they entered the home. In reality, when placed in front of a window or door, they illuminate the interior of the house. Their size makes them perfect for decorating any room.
