16th-century brass socket candlestick – Netherlandish
Height: 10.7 cm

A rare late 16th century brass candlestick with a flared, bell-shaped base and pierced socket. The bold, practical form is characteristic of early 16th century lighting design in the Low Countries, where brass objects of daily use were skillfully cast with functional yet elegant proportions.

Condition:
Good condition considering age. Losses and dents to the lower rim, surface wear, oxidation and patina throughout. Please refer to photos for a fuller impression.

From a private Belgian collection.
