Glengoyne 17-year-old single malt from an early-2000s release, originally bottled at 70 cl and 43% ABV with a sherry-influenced, unpeated Highland profile.
Description from the seller
An elegant and increasingly rare bottle from Glengoyne’s early-2000s range, this 17-year-old single malt showcases the distillery’s signature unpeated spirit and exceptionally slow distillation. Matured in a combination of high-quality oak casks — with a notable sherry influence typical of Glengoyne’s profile — this expression offers a refined balance of fruitiness, sweetness, and subtle oak.
Appearance
• Warm amber with golden highlights.
• 70 cl – 43% ABV – original bottling.
Nose
Fresh and inviting, with notes of green and ripe apples, soft malt sweetness, vanilla, light honey, and a gentle touch of sherry-driven dried fruits. Hints of oak and spice add depth.
Palate
Smooth, rounded texture. Flavours of orchard fruits, toffee, malt, and soft caramel, followed by a delicate sherry presence and well-integrated oak. Balanced and approachable, yet complex.
Finish
Medium to long, clean and slightly spicy, with lingering fruit sweetness and light oak warmth.
Why this bottle is special
• A discontinued 17-year-old expression from Glengoyne, now sought-after by collectors.
• A perfect representation of the distillery’s unpeated Highland character.
• An excellent companion piece to the 21-year-old bottling from the same collection.
