Description from the seller
Exceptionally without reservation!
Antique heraldic seal with noble crown – Probable family or civil coat of arms – Italy / Europe, late 19th – early 20th century
Materials: tornito wood, engraved metal mold.
Fascinating antique heraldic stamp, finely engraved and perfectly preserved in its authenticity. The piece most likely dates back to the late 19th century / early 20th century and was intended to seal private correspondence, official documents, or notarial acts of a minor noble family or a local civil entity.
The matrix features a central heraldic shield, adorned with a rich vegetal crown in the 19th-century style. Inside, there is a flowered / patent cross, accompanied by elegant side branches. The shield is topped with a simplified noble crown, typical of civic and family coats of arms of the period.
The handle is made of turned wood, with a beautiful original dark patina, perfectly consistent with the age of the object. The metal plate, attached by three contemporaneous nails, is still clearly legible and shows an engraving of excellent quality.
Ideal piece for collectors of philately, European heraldry, antique wooden objects, and historical writing instruments.
It will be well-packaged and shipped via express courier.
