Decorative camel saddle stool from North Africa, produced circa 1960–1975.
This type of saddle was traditionally used in Morocco, Tunisia, and surrounding regions, after which it was exported to Europe in the 60s and 70s as an exotic interior object.
The base is made of solid dark-stained wood, with hand-carved details and original cross pins. The construction is additionally secured with a wing nut, typical for this type of export pieces.
The upper piece consists of a characteristic saddle-shaped cushion covered with real cowhide in warm brown and white tones. This combination of natural materials and craftsmanship gives the whole an authentic, rustic appearance.
A unique and decorative object that looks stunning in boho, lodge, world, or eclectic interiors.
