Meteorite, a Natural Art Design polychrome jasper vortex – flame sculpture from Madagascar, measuring 218 mm high, 100 mm wide and 75 mm deep, weight 2139 g.
Description from the seller
Carved from a single block of Madagascar polychrome jasper, this flame-shaped vortex seems to carry within its polished edges the very movement of the Earth. The surfaces, polished to become almost liquid, alternate between smoky transparencies and solid patches of red, ochre, and brown: a natural mosaic that tells of the slow sedimentation of oxides, silicas, and minerals distributed in irregular layers, then united into a single mineral architecture. The ascending spiral shape is not merely an aesthetic choice: it amplifies the intrinsic nature of the polychrome jasper, a mineral known for its rooted energy and, at the same time, for its ability to 'open' the gaze to broader horizons. The tight curves, edges, inclined planes, and light cavities seem to follow a precise direction: from bottom to top, like a flame that narrows, twists, and then rises.
