You are bidding on an old good french 4/4 violin, labeled "H. C. Silvestre a Paris 1875 HCS". Condition: No cracks. Some wear and tear to original varnish. Description: Good quality high grained spruce was chosen for the top, and the maple of the two pieces back with beautiful grain is strongly flamed. Matched sides and scroll. The purfling is a tasteful work of good craftsmanship, just as the shining reddish varnish. The whole length of the violin is 592 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 115 mm; lower bouts: 209 mm. Full size. The sound is very sweet, rich, warm and powerful. Shipping: I use only fast and secure DHL Shipping worldwide! Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind.
