DIMENSIONS: cm 6.6 × 3 cm (inches 2.6" × 1.2"). Weight: 120 g Brass earrings of substantial weight from Borneo’s Kalimantan region, crafted by the Dayak Orang Ulu community. These heavy adornments were traditionally worn by Orang Ulu women, suspended from straps to stretch the earlobes — a practice passed down through generations in the forest communities of the island. Beyond their aesthetic and ritual significance, such earrings also circulated as exchange items in local markets, functioning at times as a form of currency. Good vintage condition.
