This lot features a handblown dark purple glass pitcher made in the early 19th century used for pouring vinegars or oils. Designed practical for stability when standing with a form wich has a lower centre of gravity, the piece has a long conical neck connected to a gracefully shaped folded handle. Its glass material has air bubbles and curved linear striations as a result of old traditional blowing process. Under the base a broken pontil scar is clearly visible.
