Henri Plaat was a highly versatile visual artist. In addition to numerous drawings, countless gouaches, paintings, and collages, he also created a large number of short films and sound fragments. Everything had a melancholic undertone and was characterized by a collage of form and color, absurdity, and surrealism. His work was rooted in a fascination with World War II and the beauty of decay.
