Model/type no. 1 + 3.5/50mm; Functional condition: Not tested; Physical condition: Good.
Description from the seller
Practically in the found condition. I had it inspected by a professional. The shutter speeds run correctly, with no delays. The rangefinder works. The lens should be cleaned, but it is in good condition for its age. I see no fungus on it. The focal plane shutter functions mechanically well. A perforation is visible on the left shutter curtain. The original bag is included. Everything matches the pictures.
Before shipping, I will document the functionality.
What I could gather from the internet, I will briefly summarize without claiming to be complete.
The FED camera with the number 180026 is a FED 1 (E) BERDSK, manufactured in 1941 in Kharkiv.
This Berdsk type belongs to the rarer and more expensive models, even though it is not yet classified as very rare. These cameras have 'ZAVOD' written on them.
It was previously believed that these cameras were assembled from remaining spare parts in Berdsk in the Ural Mountains after the factory was evacuated from Charkow.
However, we are fortunate now, as the factory certificate for the camera with the number 180024 has been preserved, and it was manufactured in Kharkiv on July 31, 1941.
By the way, this is a more well-known camera, also the commander's version with 1/1000 second and the 1:2 lens. I have attached a photo; that is the last image.
No mention of Berdsk.
The camera with the number 180026 is a late model with a rarer inscription. We know exactly where and when it was manufactured.
There are still speculations about later serial numbers, for example, above 182500.
