Description from the seller
It is a professional instant film camera, the Cambo Passportrait, designed to produce multiple photo IDs on a single sheet of Polaroid 100-type film.
Model and usage
The Cambo Passportrait (series PP / Model 40) is a studio camera for passport photos, with a very sturdy metal body designed for intensive use in photographic laboratories and photo shops.
It is designed to take from two to four identical portraits in a single shot, depending on the version, utilizing instant pack-film like Polaroid or Fuji 100.
Technical specifications
Obiettivo Cambonar 125mm f/8 (or equivalent Schneider Radionar 125mm f/8 depending on the series), fixed focus optimized for the standard passport photo distance.
Central shutter with speeds 1/50 s, 1/100 s plus B setting, and selectable apertures 8, 11, 16, 22, 32 via the front dial.
Flash slide, sync socket, shutter cable attachment, and integrated luminous target viewfinder for quick framing of the face.
Format and film
The camera uses Polaroid backs for Series 100 instant film (pack 73×85 mm), on which four individual images approximately 36×42–46 mm each are recorded, which is the typical size of passport photos.
Like all passportraits, it is completely manual: the exposure is set by the operator based on the lighting conditions of the set, usually with studio flash or dedicated electronic torch.
