Description from the seller

Authentic Roman Amphora

Very beautiful and authentic Roman amphora originating from a shipwreck that was active in the wine trade of the Roman world. The amphora has been professionally examined and documented and comes with the original certificate of authenticity, signed by expert J. Vrancken (1987), a specialist in Greek and Roman antiquities.

The amphora dates from approximately 50 BC to 200 AD, with a most probable dating around 150 AD. The piece displays a beautiful and fully natural shipwreck patina. The amphora measures about 63 cm in height and is presented on a metal display stand, suitable for safe presentation.
