Beomaster 901 by Bang & Olufsen, in very good condition and tested for use, weighing 5.5 kg, produced between 1972 and 1977.
Description from the seller
Beomaster 901 in 1977/78 was the simplest receiver from Bang & Olufsen. However, no compromises were made regarding quality. The tuner section covered long wave, medium wave, and FM bands with a very high standard of reception quality.
Tuning was performed using a slider that moved smoothly along a clearly marked scale. The backlit indicator and the AFC (automatic frequency control) circuit helped in easy and precise tuning. The MONO control button disconnects the built-in stereo decoder when proper stereo reception is disrupted by bad weather conditions or other interference.
The large tuning range of the Beomaster 901 allows for tuning FM stations, long waves, and medium waves. The tuning slider had small knobs that facilitated precise tuning. AFC locked the receiver onto the desired station.
The stereo amplifier had an output power of 2 x 20 W RMS, and special transistors with Darlington feedback in the output stages kept distortions at a minimal level – below 0.3% at full power. It included connections for two pairs of speakers and a pair of headphones. There were also sockets for connecting a tape recorder, a turntable, and AM and FM antennas. Easy-to-use sliders controlled volume, balance, bass, and treble, while narrow buttons allowed selection of the waveband, tape, or recording input.
Indoor FM antenna
To receive FM programs, the Beomaster 1001 must be connected to an FM antenna. Within a certain range of the transmitter, a Bang & Olufsen FM room antenna model 8902010 can be used. The antenna was easy to install, and the telescopic elements could be extended and positioned conveniently.
The Beomaster 901 set can be part of the Beosystem 901 set, which includes the Beogram 1102 disc player, the Beocord 1101 cassette recorder, and two Beovox Uni-Phase S25 or P30 speakers.
