HISTORY/DOCUMENTATION
This legendary Fastback began its life on September 15, 1966, at the Ford factory in Metuchen, New Jersey (United States). In 2023, it was imported to the Netherlands. The car has been partially restored in the past, which is also evident from the 2023 appraisal report, describing the car as class 2 (very good). Technically, the Ford is excellently maintained, with many invoices available. A specialized company has worked on the Mustang version, implementing various upgrades.
Exterior
The 1966 Fastback is probably the most beautiful Mustang ever built and is highly praised by many enthusiasts. This particular example is very attractive and ruggedly finished: black paint ('Raven') with white racing stripes. The paint is about 20 years old and has a deep gloss, with signs of use and imperfections. The doors have small rust spots. The wheels make the car, and therefore, beautiful 15" 'American Racing' wheels are mounted. The body panel gaps are nice, and the chrome work is in good condition. The windows around are tinted. The windshield has been replaced and is fitted with a sun filter.
Interior
The black Pony interior is still in good condition. The upholstery is made of black skai leather. The driver looks out over the distinctive wooden/aluminium steering wheel and deep gauge dials. There is also a 'rally pack gauge cluster set' installed, featuring a tachometer and a clock. The original Ford radio is still present. The dashboard and instruments are in good condition. The door panels, headliner, and floor coverings are also in good shape. The air conditioning has been recharged. The interior offers an ideal combination of comfort, originality, and classic looks. Additionally, the Mustang is a 2+2, allowing four people to enjoy the driving experience of the Mustang.
technical
The Mustang is in top condition: a specialist has thoroughly serviced the car. In addition to regular maintenance, nearly all hoses and lines have been replaced, various suspension components have been renewed, the rear shock absorbers have been replaced, fluids and filters have been updated, and the lighting has been adjusted to European regulations. The car features power steering and power brakes. The '289' 4.7-liter V8 engine delivers 225 hp and runs and sounds fantastic. The exhaust system has been replaced with a custom-made system with chrome tips. The tires have been replaced and are in good condition. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and properly, making driving the Mustang a real pleasure.
General
The Ford Mustang is probably the most iconic car ever built, and it has been produced since 1965. The first generation was built as a traditional coupe and convertible, but also as a Fastback. This Fastback features a sloping roofline that extends to the back of the car, while the coupe has a more traditional, angular rear with a trunk lid. The sportier look of the Fastback is the most sought-after version and is characterized by its ventilation openings behind the side windows, which are part of the 'silent-flow' interior ventilation system. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just under 8 seconds and has a top speed of about 193 km/h. The first generation Mustang was produced until 1973. The Ford Mustang Fastback remains a popular classic car, especially known for its streamlined design and powerful performance. Particularly, the Fastback version is a coveted model among collectors. Fall in love with this perfect version of the legendary Mustang, just like many others!
