Description from the seller
Pair of three-light silver candelabra, Ermindo Pampaloni, Florence.
Elegant pair of silver candelabra, with three branches, crafted by the renowned Florentine silversmith Pampaloni Ermindo, characterized by a refined interpretation of the neoclassical language, reworked according to the usual formal purity of the Florentine workshop.
The turned and tapered stem, marked by deep vertical ribbing with fluting, is attached to a wide, perfectly proportioned circular base, also decorated with dense radial grooves converging towards the center, creating an effect of luminous plasticity. The edge of the base is adorned with a delicate and continuous sequence of heart-shaped palmettes finely chiseled.
The central node, oval-shaped and swollen, is wrapped by a tighter vertical beading that accompanies the attachment of the arms. These arms open in a wide, symmetrical arch, with a fluid and soft movement, supporting the pierced bobeches with beaded edges. The candle holders are also carved with fine and precise chasing featuring vertical lanceolate motifs.
The entire piece features a compact and homogeneous craftsmanship, with glossy, taut surfaces that reflect light sharply, and with a quality of execution consistent with the work of Ermindo Pampaloni, one of the leading interpreters of the twentieth-century Florentine silverware renaissance.
A work with a strong stage presence, balanced proportions, and impeccable ornamental detailing; a mature example of the technical skill and measured elegance characteristic of the workshop.
They display the manufacturer's mark and silver title as shown in the image.
