Pre-Columbian. Chancay Textile With Spanish Export License

Chancay textile decorated with geometric designs and two trophy heads on the sides. Weaving; Chancay Culture, Peru, 1000-1200 AD. Natural fibers. It presents damages originated by the passage of time. Measurements: 19 x 33 cm; 24 x 38,5 cm (glass). In ancient Peru the main materials used for spinning and weaving were cotton and wool, from alpaca and vicuña. They were used in their natural colors, white and brown, and were also dyed with mineral, vegetable and animal dyes. It was spun by means of a spindle, and woven by means of backstrap looms or rigid horizontal looms. Also their textiles, embroidered with needles or tapestries, were of singular notoriety, and were made with cotton, wool, gauze and feathers, using techniques considered unparalleled at the time. Condition: Surface wear and material losses on the centre( see pictures ) Provenance: S. Fossa Collection since 1972 ( Caracas, Venezuela ). Thence by descent since 1980 by his son. Important: Due to Summer holidays, Items sold at the end of July or August will be sent in September. Notes: - The piece includes authenticity certificate. - The piece includes spanish export license. - If the piece goes outside the European Union a new export license will be requested by us, This process can take beteen 1 and 2 months. According to Spanish legislation, items sent outside the European Union are subject to export taxes and will be added to the invoice, at the buyer's expense. These export fees are fixed on the final auction price and the tax rate is not applied directly on the total value of the item to be exported, but rather the different percentages by sections are applied to it: - Up to 6,000 euros: 5%./ From 6.001 to 60.000 euros: 10%. - Shipped with Insurance.
