A set of 20 vintage steel chisels in good used condition with minor signs of age and staining, dating to 1950–1960.
Description from the seller
This special lot of 20 vintage wood chisels comes from the workshop of an old woodworker, marked by the classic stamp—someone who used his tools for years with care, knowledge, and craftsmanship. The collection includes a beautiful mix of European top brands and rarer models, each with its own history and character.
Various drill bits bear clear brand markings, including, among others.
Spear & Jackson (England) – known for their high-alloy Sheffield steel.
Erik Anton Berg / Eskilstuna (Sweden) – world-famous for Swedish tool steel.
Pont-de-Roide (France) – a classic French quality maker
Arrow-like and other European smiths
Swedish Steel marked specimens
Multiple older stamps indicating artisanal blacksmiths.
These brands are known for their excellent steel types and durability, making this lot particularly attractive to both collectors and active woodworkers.
All chisels are sharp but have been hand-sharpened for a lifetime. As a result, they feature an authentic, slightly asymmetrical sharpening profile — just as you would expect from old craftsmanship. They are not perfectly new, but the signs of use tell a story of years of experience and solid use. The cuts are beautifully made and ready to serve again in a modern workshop.
The lot includes various profiles and widths: from fine gouges to broad chisels, finishing chisels, older wooden handles, and modern handles. In short: a versatile set that is immediately ready for woodworking, furniture restoration, sculpture, or simply as beautiful collection tools.
A characterful and quality vintage lot of chisels — real tools with soul, top-quality steel, and a history you can feel the moment you hold them in your hands.
