Ancient Chinese Blue and White - Qianlong Dynasty (18th Century)
This is a charming Chinese porcelain teapot from the 18th century, belonging to the Qianlong Dynasty period (1736-1795). The piece is notable for its provenance, having been transported by the Dutch East India Company (VOC).
Decoration: The decoration in famille rose enamels features elaborate floral arrangements and nature motifs, characteristic of Chinese export porcelain for the European market of the period. The upper edge of the body is adorned with a geometric pattern in blue and iron red.
Dimensions: height of approximately 13 cm and width of 17 cm (from the spout to the handle).
Condition status details (defects)
Despite its age and history, the item shows signs of use and damage consistent with its age. The defects are as follows:
• Bico (Spout): The tip of the spout (dispenser) has a small flaw or chip at the end.
• Tampa: The Tampa shows a small hairline crack and/or small chips on the fitting edge, consistent with use and age.
