Mini Marcos MK4, 1975, in red, with Dutch registration papers and matching numbers and colours, located in the Netherlands.
Description from the seller
Very beautiful and neat Mini Marcos MK4 from 1975. This Mini Marcos was built in the Netherlands in 1974/1975 and has always been in the hands of true Marcos enthusiasts in the Netherlands. Maintenance has certainly not been spared.
Bodywork & Paint Shop
As the photos clearly show, this is still a very nice Marcos. Newly painted in beautiful Signal Red. The body is still in very good condition after all these years. Of course, it has been repainted before. There is some overspray on, among other things, the roof window rubber. Naturally, after all these years, there are some damages, bubbles, and craquelure here and there. See the photos for reference. Overall, the body is still quite neat, with a beautiful glossy paint. The bodywork features a lockable hood and trunk, secured with mounted locks. The doors are also lockable. There are 2 sets of keys with the car. The open roof, installed in the 1970s, is functional. The sliding windows in the doors are made of plexiglass. The Marcos also has 2 additional plastic widened fender extensions that can potentially be mounted at the front.
TECHNICAL
For the technology of this Mini Marcos, components from a classic Mini have naturally been used. Regarding the chassis, the steel subframes at the front and rear are from a Mini and are in good condition. Of course, the Marcos is equipped with a 1275GT engine, with double SU carburettors, electronic ignition, silicone hoses, etc. In 2019, it even received a completely new clutch. An hour meter has been installed during the build for the engine, which has now run 801 hours. The engine produces a nice sound through the thick exhaust pipe, starts well, has good oil pressure, and pulls strongly, as expected from a tuned 1275. The gearbox shifts smoothly, the clutch works well, and the steering is very precise. As is typical with a 'mini motor,' a drop of fluid may sometimes be seen underneath. Cooling is in good order, with an additional electric cooling fan. The electrical system is equipped with a master switch to disconnect the entire circuit. On the dashboard, you will find oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, amperes, fuel gauge, adjustable tachometer, etc. The brakes consist of 10-inch discs at the front and aluminum drum brakes with cooling fins at the rear. Originally, the vehicle is fitted with 10-inch wheels. Currently, it has nice 10-inch GB wheels with still good Falken tires. Additionally, the Marcos comes with the original 10-inch steel wheels for long-term storage and an extra lightweight GB wheel as a spare.
INTERIOR:
The interior is fully finished in black and red. As a final adjustment/improvement, recent bucket seats in the car's color scheme have been installed. These are equipped with four-point belts from the brand Brittax. The dashboard and interior trim are made of black leatherette. Additionally, a custom-made rear bench seat is present but not currently installed. Inside the vehicle, alongside the main safety cutoff switch, there is also a fire extinguisher on board.
Other Information
Ultimately, the registration was chosen as a registration as his Coach 1275, brand: Custom-built. This does not mean that we are really talking about a Mini Marcos MK4, as evidenced even by the temporary license plate issued for registration in the Netherlands. See the photo for this; T-68-04. And of course, the mounted type plate of Marcos. The Dutch license plate is fully complete and transferable or exportable. The Marcos also still has a valid Dutch inspection (APK). All tax vignettes from 1975 onwards are also with the Marcos.
What makes this Mini Marcos even more special is that the entire history has been preserved from day one. From purchase invoices, parts, to photos of the build, the paint shop, registration issuance, Marcos meetings, holidays, and more. There are three folders with all the invoices related to the car. Additionally, various editions of the Marcos club magazine, in which you will undoubtedly find this Mini Marcos.
It is advisable to view the vehicle first before making an offer to avoid disappointments later. You can contact Catawiki to arrange an appointment. Viewing and pickup can be done in Vlissingen, Netherlands. I can also assist you with quotes for transportation within Europe and handling any export paperwork.
