Inkwell - .800 silver, Onyx

Inkstand, dating from the early twentieth century. It consists of a base made of onyx and a central body in punzonated metal (silver 800, see photo) that serves as an ink reservoir.
The base is made of onyx, a type of chalcedony with parallel bands that give the object its distinctive veining. The reservoir and the lid are made of metal, (800 silver).
The design is typical of the era, with a solid and geometric base and a body in silver featuring decorations, such as the floral scrolls on the lid. The number '800' stamped on the edge of the metal base (visible in the photo) indicates that the metal is silver.
