Description from the seller
This elegant Omega automatic in solid 18k gold by weight, with 16g of 18k gold, equipped with the prestigious calibre 552, is presented in an outstanding condition for a piece from the 1960s. Its 18k gold case maintains clean lines, well-defined edges, and polished surfaces, preserving the original geometry without dents or deformations. It only shows slight micro-scratches typical of the passage of time, very discreet and consistent with careful use.
The champagne-toned dial with a vertical brushed finish is in excellent condition, with no visible stains, featuring a light and uniform patina that enhances its vintage character. The applied indices and gold hands maintain excellent shine and a completely harmonious aesthetic. The text 'Omega Automatic' remains sharp and perfectly preserved.
The acrylic crystal is very well preserved, with no deep scratches or cracks, showing only micro-wear typical of age. The crown functions correctly, providing a firm feel when manipulated. The gold back cover, also in excellent condition, displays a clean finish with no significant wear.
The interior reveals an Omega 552 caliber, one of the brand's most appreciated automatic movements, known for its reliability and longevity. The movement appears especially clean: rotor, bridges, screws, and jewels in excellent condition, with no signs of corrosion or dirt buildup. The caliber operates steadily, indicating good maintenance over the years.
The crocodile-type leather strap, in a warm brown tone, is in very good condition with hardly any signs of use, complementing the watch's elegant aesthetic. Additionally, the watch includes its original vintage Omega box, a highly valued addition for collectors, which increases its appeal and overall value.
Overall, this Omega represents an exceptionally well-preserved collectible piece: a perfect combination of Swiss quality, sophisticated design, solid gold, and high-end movement, ideal for both collectors and those seeking a truly high-level dress watch.
