Description from the seller
Marine chart 'The Race to the Wind' - 2025
Elevate your interior with this magnificent marine.
The painting depicts at least four sailboats in the open sea. The eye is immediately drawn to the two largest sailboats in the foreground and middle ground. The largest, on the left, dominates the composition with the size of its sail. Two smaller, more distant sails are on the right, suggesting depth. The work is dominated by shades of blue and white. The sky and water are painted in blue hues ranging from light to very dark, almost violet. The sails of the boats are a bright white, strongly contrasting with the surrounding blue. The title 'the race for the wind' suggests a competition or swift navigation. The atmosphere is dynamic and evokes the freedom and energy of the sea. The choice of colors gives an impression of freshness and vastness.
Painting by the artist Yves Decaudan - 1954
Acrylic on cotton canvas, wooden frame, unframed, dimensions 80 x 80 cm.
