Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A large solid silver elephant figurine (Indian silversmithing, later Portuguese hallmark) in 0.925 silver, weighing 2260 g with a 28 × 13 cm base and 32.5 cm height, dating to 1980–1990 and in good condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
Beautiful decorative elephant figure crafted in solid silver, finely engraved and chiselled in traditional Indian style. The saddle cloth, ears and canopy (howdah) are richly decorated with floral and vegetal motifs, typical of high-quality Indian silversmithing. The canopy is completed with hanging chain ornaments around the perimeter.
The piece bears a Portuguese silver hallmark, indicating that it was officially re-marked upon import to Portugal. The craftsmanship, decoration and chiselling, however, are clearly of Indian origin, reflecting Mughal-influenced design.
The trunk is raised, symbolising good fortune, and the piece stands firmly on four legs. A very decorative collectable object, suitable for display and for collectors of Asian silver.
Material: solid silver (Portuguese hallmark present)
Origin: India (silverwork), hallmarked later in Portugal
Period: mid 20th century
Condition: very good condition with natural age patina (see photos for details)
Weight: 2260g
Dimensions: 28x13cm
Height: 32.5cm

Will be carefully packaged and shipped with tracking.
