Elegant Chinese export silver bonbon basket – handmade – circa 1880–1930
A refined and handcrafted silver bonbon dish from the Chinese export tradition, made in the late 19th to early 20th century. The piece is richly decorated with openwork floral motifs in high relief, typical of the Canton style. The fine contours, elegant edge, and hammered base showcase the artisanal character of Chinese silversmiths from this period.
The stand rests on a sturdy round base and is equipped with an elegant, hinged carrying handle. A classic design that was originally made specifically for the Western market. At the bottom, there are two small silver marks, characteristic of Chinese export silver from this period.
Condition
Good antique condition, with light wear and small signs of use appropriate for the age. No noticeable damages. The hinge opens and closes well.
