Siena. Gino Giusti was born in Siena in 1937. He graduated from the local Art Institute 'Duccio di Boninsegna,' and later studied scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. His debut occurred in 1959 in Siena. In 1961, he founded the first Modern Art Gallery 'l’Aminta' in Siena, named after his mother. A journey through France, the Benelux countries, Germany, and Denmark in 1962 was a pivotal experience for his artistic development. In 1965, he was in Dusseldorf, then in Venice, where he repeatedly stayed; in 1966, he was in six cities.

In 2000, on the occasion of International Women's Day, inaugurated on March 8th, the Municipality of Asciano – Department of Culture held an anthological exhibition at the 'Museo Cassioli' of Asciano: '...to women, the undisputed Muse through time,' in collaboration with '2 di Quadri Arte' of Siena. Also in 2000, the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Casole d’Elsa commissioned him to create the new banners for the contrade of the Palio; and in the same year, the Municipality of San Giovanni d’Asso commissioned him to paint the 'Drappellone' for the 'Giostra di Simone' in Montisi (August 2000). In 2002, the Luigi Sturzo Art Gallery in Mestre, in collaboration with Morgan Art of Florence, organized an exhibition titled 'Gino Giusti, Works 1970-2000,' with an introduction by Professor Giulio Gasparotti. In 2007, the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Montalcino (SI) dedicated a solo exhibition to him at the Fortress.

He has won numerous awards, including: the Lucignano Prize (Lucignano Valdichiana, 1966), the Siena Prize 'International Symposium of Obstetrics and Podiatry' (Siena, 1966), the Pratomagno Prize (Carda di Castelfocognano, 1967), the La Verna Prize (Chiusi La Verna, 1967), the Valbruna Prize (Gabicce a Mare, 1968), the Villa Poma Prize (Mantova, 1971), the Loreo Prize (Rovigo, 1974), the Elfy Prize (Punta Ala, 1974), the Corrado Alvaro Prize (S. Luca Reggio Calabria, 1976), the Siena City Prize 'Noble Contrada del Bruco' (Siena, 1985), and the Florence Savings Bank 'Golden Frog' Prize (San Sano, 1991). In 1967, RAI 1 dedicated a segment to him on 'Italian Chronicles' by Luciano Luisi. In 1988, RAI 1, with Paolo Fraiese, interviewed him on the occasion of the Siena Palio on July 2. In 1990, RAI TRE, curated by Gianfranco Pancani, produced a segment on his personal exhibition in Florence, at the Palazzo Vecchio Gallery, dedicated to 'The Man: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.' In 2006, the Toscana Channel 3 television station, curated by Giovanni Poma, dedicated a special to him. Several private television stations have also shown interest in his work.
