This very special chess set consists of two football teams with coaches, goalkeepers and footballs The chessboard is the grass, with green playing fields. The teams in red and blue could be Manchester United and Manchester City, but there are of course more options possible.

The design is probably from P. Chiari, the Italian artist known for the style of the chessboard and chess pieces. The chess set is in good condition, two of the chess pieces have been broken but have also been repaired without any visible remnants. The chessboard and the chess pieces are clearly visible on the many detailed photos. 

Height king: 11.5 cm. Size chessboard: 44.5 x 44.5 x 4 cm. (LxWxH). Total weight: 4.7 kg.
