Beautiful summer panel of 46 x 37. Nice frame.
Anna Martha Elizabeth Bruin was born on 24 September 1870 in Zaandijk. She studied under the direction of J.L. Vleming in Zutphen and was taught by J.D. Huibers in Amsterdam. She graduated from M.O. drawing at the national college for teaching drawing education in Amsterdam.
She exhibited in her studio and in the art room of Hamdorff and the public library in Laren. Topics were: landscapes and she considered herself to be part of the older school.
Annie Bruin lived and worked in Laren and painted and drew mostly landscapes. She signed Anie Bruin. She was a member of the fine artist association Laren-Blaricum. One of her most famous pieces was "de Schedelmeter". She celebrated her 70th birthday in the midst of her art friends. She died on 24 June 1961 in Blaricum.
