A beautiful wooden Ottoman gusle - one string instrument with  breathtakingly beautiful carvings.  2nd half of 20th century. 

The gusle is made from one piece, preferably maple wood and the sound box  is tightened with goats skin.  Also other animals skins are used.  The instrument has a long neck of wood carving at the end. It has one string and that string consists of something like 30 pieces of  horse hair.

The instrument is used over the centuries to play a song about a heroic deed, a history guide, but also at weddings to tell something about the couple. At the Court in the 8th century it was also a known instrument.

2nd half of 20th century - in good condition.

It is beautifully finished.  Very unique and usable.  The photos form a part of the description.
