This large beautiful chess set consists of heavy pieces of metal presumably tin, and a beautiful wooden chess board. The origin of the board and the pieces is not entirely clear, but the style is somewhat reminiscent of Ottoman and Byzantine. The towers, for instance, are quite similar the famous cathedral in Moscow but the veiled ladies are more reminiscent of West Asia. The bridge on the handle of the drawers is possibly the Bosporus.

The chessboard is beautifully inlaid with wood and equipped with many brilliant details and ornaments. A beautiful asset to enthusiasts of special chess games. The chessboard as well as the pieces are in very good condition. The pieces are almost all equipped with coasters and the pieces can be safely stored away in the drawers under the chessboard.

Dimensions of the box are 40.5 cm x 40.5 cm x 9.5 cm. Height king: 7.5 cm and the total weight is no less than 10.2 kg.
