1897  Bauch & Lomb Unicum Primus  Quarter-Plate Camera.   The body is not identified, but the lens and two-blade shutter were introduced in 1897 and form the main part of the camera. Twist the round shutter dial to the left to cock the shutter. The lens mount has both side and upright movement. and has an attractive gold/silver finish. The camera can be focused using the rear screen or by a box-type reflex viewfinder. The lens has a slight deposit of dust and the shutter works throughout the range. Assuming the lens/shutter age, the camera must be around 120 years old.
It comes in very good/used condition, with mild signs of use/wear. The bellows are finished in maroon material with some slight distortion, but in sound condition. The camera measures 14cm x 11cm x 5cm when closed. It will be sent by Tracked & Signed Royal Mail post immediately on payment.
