This A-807 is nearly identical to the A-8850 which was intended for the German market.

The A-807, better than the A-8850?
Absolutely yes.
The A-8850 was specifically designed for the German market and was subject to the production demands imposed by German mail for suppressing radio interference.
That reduces the sound slightly.
The A-807 however does not have these limitations and even has a few components of higher quality, it is identical to the A-8850 other than that. 
Solid finish, smart circuits without unnecessary components, powerful transformer and power amplifiers, phono MM/MC, a lot of connections an remotely controllable.
Great amplifier with  timeless design, with great features, top sound and fitting performance for the speakers, even up to 2 ohms.
This device has everything an amplifier needs and more.

The input selector has 8 different lights which correspond to the chosen input: CD, tuner, DAT, Tape 1, Tape 2, Phono, Aux 1 and Aux 2.
The Onkyo also has a large number of filter and adjustment options.
The phono input can be switched to MM and MC.
