Description from the seller
ONKYO AV Receiver TX-SR 501E
The ONKYO AV Receiver TX-SR 501E is a radio receiver and AV amplifier capable of powering surround sound and 6.1-channel home cinema systems.
The main advantages of this ONKYO are its simplicity of operation and sound quality: precise, detailed and powerful. Used in surround, of course, it delivers excellent performance in the separation of all channels and in playback detail. In stereo, the sound is full and rich.
The Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES 6.1 processing of this receiver adds a rear center surround channel to create effects more immersive than standard 5.1 surround.
This SR501 also includes Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Neo:6, which can create multichannel 5.1 and 6.1 sound from CDs and radio.
The six channels of the power amplifier deliver 65 watts into 8-ohm loads and 80 watts into 6-ohm loads.
The customizable crossover control for satellite/subwoofer is interesting, as is the versatile speaker configuration. You can select crossover options of 60 Hz, 80 Hz, 100 Hz, 120 Hz and 150 Hz — which is very useful for adjusting the sound of the different speakers that are connected.
With component video switching—which is rare—the SR501 can accommodate two video sources. We also count four A/V inputs and two corresponding outputs, 5.1 DVD-A/SACD inputs and two stereo inputs for a CD player and a cassette recorder. There are also three digital audio inputs (one coaxial and two optical). The set of A/V inputs on the front panel makes it easy to connect video cameras and other portable devices.
Speaker binding posts are available for all surround channels in RCA, and spring-clip connectors only for speakers that do traditional stereo.
