A Tesla or Plasma lamp is a translucent glass sphere filled with a mix of different noble glasses with a high-voltage electrode in the centre of the sphere. Plasma bundles running from the centre to the outside of the glass sphere, continuously moving due to a combination of convection and  reciprocal electric interaction cause a multitude of coloured light beams.  When you come close or touch the sphere with your finger the plasma bundles tend to move towards it, due to the change in electric capacity. Tesla spheres were mostly popular in the 1980s. 

The Tesla sphere on offer is the biggest of its types, 7 inch, and it was purchased by me in the early 1980s. It is original and the original packaging has been kept and the lamp will be shipped in it.
The sphere has an antenna on the bottom with which it reacts to sound. The intensity can be regulated with a rotary knob.  

Measurements: 44 cm high
                     30 cm wide
                      Sphere diameter is approx. 21 cm.
