Ancient Roman Bronze Ring with an Exceptionally shaped Bezel engraved with a two Roosters and a Palm branch.
Rooster was mostly associated with Mercury and was one of the most important animals for the Romans as an Announcer of the Rising Sun with its voice, obliterating darkness.
Massive and in very good condition with a dark natural patina and still wearable.
Date: 1st.-3rd. Century AD.
Purchased by the current owner in 2013 in Austria, Wien from Collector fair.
