1913 - 1994

Piotr Filippovich Alberti was born on 25th November, 1913 in the town of Astrakhan, Russia, at the Volga.

In 1931 he graduated from the Astrakhan Art School where he studied with Pavel Vlasov.

In 1935-1936 he studied at the Repin Institute of Arts in Leningrad.

He started exhibiting in 1938.

He painted portraits, still lifes, landscapes, genre paintings and studies from nature.

Alberti was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists from 1956.

Alberti Piotr Filippovich died in 1994 in St Petersburg.

His paintings are in art museums and private collections in Russia, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, the US, the United Kingdom and around the world.

He is listed on page 8 of Matthew Bown's, A Dictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Painters.
