The old brand Montrose only existed for a short time and manufactured beautifully designed high-quality watches, above all.

This lovely oblong watch dates from the 1930s/1940s.
The case is 10 kt gold-filled and shows very little wear to the old-fashioned thick gold layer (even when viewed through a magnifying glass).

Measurements: width approx. 25.5 mm (without the crown) and 37 mm from tip to tip.
The case is beautifully modelled in a typical Art Deco style...and appears to be built in layers..."stepped case".

The matte black dial is still in wonderful condition...special for a watch this age.
Large crown that winds and adjusts smoothly.
The small second hand does not move.
The crystal is made of mineral glass and still looks very neat.
Steel click case back... (dents).

The hand-wound movement is clean, oiled and keeps very good time... Solid jewelled Swiss movement.

The average deviation on the digital testing device is only approx. 20 seconds per 24 hours. (snapshot).

Fitted with an unworn black lizard skin strap (suited for a wrist with a circumference of up to a good 19 cm).

Although it is originally a men's watch...it would suit a women's wrist just fine/better, nowadays.
